TPG is iPayment, Inc.'s Transaction Processor Gateway technology. TPG allows the more technically advanced merchant, Internet Service Provider, Commerce Service Provider, or application developer to conduct secure e-commerce in their customized environment using either the Internet or a Virtual Private Network.
BENEFITS:
TPG not only allows merchants to process transactions, it provides security against credit card fraud, as well as mechanisms to assist in better serving customers. TPG interacts seamlessly with any type of commerce medium, including websites or custom systems designed for call centers or kiosks, etc. Some of TPG features include:
- Unique Descriptor - chargeback reduction feature
TPG has the ability to provide a unique description on a transaction by transaction basis. Since merchants can more accurately control the transaction information that appears on the customer's credit card statement, cardholders are less likely to dispute their charges.
- Unique Transaction ID - customer service enhancement feature
TPG generates a unique ID for each transaction. This data can be used to create a unique, private, and secure web link to detailed information about charges appearing on the customer's credit card statement. This provides a very efficient mechanism for improving customer service as well as reducing chargebacks.
- CVV2 - fraud reduction service
This enhanced risk reduction service requires that a customer enter the 3-digit security code that appears on the back of VISA and MasterCard credit cards. This service reduces fraud since it helps validate that the customer had a genuine credit card in their possession during the transaction and that the card account was legitimate.
- Bin Blocker - enhanced fraud reduction service
An optional, enhanced risk reduction service for TPG merchants, Bin Blocker reduces fraud risk by allowing merchants to refuse transactions of cards issued by merchant-specified countries.
HOW IT WORKS:
- A merchant has a programmer integrate TPG into his existing e-commerce system. (typically 2-3 days coding)
- When the customer submits his payment information by clicking on the merchant's "BUY" button, that information is instantly and securely sent to TPG, processed, and immediately returned to the customer with an approval or decline. The customer never leaves the merchant's website or e-commerce system.
- The merchant has the ability to access transaction data and run reports from TPG or to create his own separate reporting database using the data exchanged with TPG.
